Shenanigans in detail
Welcome to the first in our series of Vegan Women’s Networking dinners.
Our theme for this evening is the Japanese principle of Ikigai: harness the power of what drives you.
Our first guest speaker will be Amanda Leigh Walker, famously known as the co-founder of Melbourne’s iconic Lord Of The Fries. But what inspired her pursuit for the perfect fry? And what motivated her to grow her fry-mpire across Australia?
The road to success had its own challenges but AmaNda kept her focus on why she was doing this.
With 17 stores across Australia and an additional 7 stores just across the pond, in New Zealand, each one of them has their own mojo. Their distinct vibe represents the cities they reside in. We are lucky to be in Melbourne, the homebase for The Lords. Amanda will share her journey with us at the snazzy new Swan St. LOTF, in the heart of Melbourne’s pub district.
An evening of women connecting and supporting each other:
We welcome you with a glass of sparkling wine…
We will meet, greet and mingle for a while before we sit down for some burgers, fries, snacks and sauces…
Then we will dive into our topic for the evening: finding your why.
Interactions from our incredible participants are encouraged. We would love to hear about your journeys and your inspiration.
Following this we will enjoy some sweets during our Q&A session. Feel free to prepare some questions in advance or allow your heart to guide you on the day.
We will share our love and support for each other as we wrap up our time together.

Our second guest speaker will be Kaylene Idda, director of People and Culture at Animals Australia.
For almost two decades Kaylene found fulfillment volunteering in service of animals and communities around the world. It was only 6 years ago – after joining the Animal Australia team – that she felt a shift from a ‘career’ to a ‘calling’. Integrating her learnings as a yoga instructor, with her core values of kindness and compassion for all beings, has created a pathway to finding her ‘why’ through her role as Animals Australia’s People & Culture Director and, more recently, a Board Member for Edgar’s Mission. Kaylene is grateful for the opportunity to support people to flourish as their best selves to nurture a kinder world.

Why you should attend: in other words, what's our Ikigai behind this series
- We created this series to hold space for vegan women
- For you to find the love, support and courage among other women who share your values
- You might have entrepreneurial aspirations and not sure where to start
- You want to connect with and support other vegan women
- You want to establish a vegan network within the community to collaborate on future endeavours
- You have this incessantly nagging feeling that you want to make the world a better place but are not sure where to start
As with all our events $5 from every ticket will be donated to an organisation fighting animal cruelty. This time we will be supporting Animal Liberation Victoria.
The Swan St LOTF is connected to East Richmond train station and the trams 70 and 78, which are pretty much at its doorstep. So if you’re coming in after work from the CBD or choose to drive, there’s tons of transport and parking options to choose from.
See you there!
